Celebrating 50 Years

“He who works with his hands is a laborer; he who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but he who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.” - Louis Nizer

Celebrating Slow

In the fast-moving and expedited world of today, there is ever-growing respect for the preservation of traditions, celebrating slow, considered craftsmanship and appreciating the charm and character that only comes from things made by hand. These are filled with the human touch – hands and heart - with a recognition of the time, care, skill and love it took to make them.

Our Mission

At Amos Pewter, we are fiercely loyal to our mission and commitment to being keepers of the time-honoured practices of pewter-making. These practices support the creativity of our artisans as they explore and develop innovative and original pieces.  Each design that leaves our shop is a unique, hand-made treasure. It starts with the spark of an idea, imagined from beginning to end. From pencil to paper, the hand gradually filling in the details on the sketch, then bringing the design alive in wax, rubber and finally pewter…sanding, polishing, shining…each step of the way the artisans’ hands carefully guiding the piece until a true reflection of what the artist imagined is realized.  This is the magic that has been happening at Amos Pewter for the past 50 years!

Thank you

Each pewter design in our shop carries with it the beginnings of a story – a story of the artisan’s inspiration behind the design and the moments they put into creating it. Each design embodies a heart and is intended to deeply resonate with our customer. When they choose a piece or a collection, they infuse it with new life, enriching its story.  As it leaves, its story will continue – marking milestones and memories, continuing traditions or starting new ones, celebrating someone special or marking an occasion. Thank you for being a part of our story over the last 50 years and for choosing us to be a part of yours - it has been an honour. We hope you will join us as our story continues.
